Important: Pocket Attorney AI tools are designed to assist with legal information and workflow productivity. They are not a substitute for qualified legal advice, licensed representation, or your own professional review. AI tools are also different from Counsel Now, which connects you with a live independent attorney.

1. What This Page Covers

This AI Disclaimer applies when you use Pocket Attorney AI chat, AI note-taking, voice or realtime AI sessions, speech transcription, text-to-speech, AI-generated summaries, drafting tools, retrieval features, email-draft generation, and similar automated features.

2. AI Is Not A Lawyer

AI outputs are informational and assistive only. They are generated by automated systems, not by an attorney. They do not create an attorney-client relationship with Pocket Attorney or with Forsythe Development, and they do not replace advice from a licensed attorney who understands your facts and jurisdiction.

3. AI Tools Versus Counsel Now

Pocket Attorney AI features are separate from Counsel Now. Counsel Now connects you with an independent, licensed attorney for a live, paid video consultation, and any advice in that consultation comes from that attorney, who is responsible for it under their own professional duties. Pocket Attorney provides Counsel Now as a technology platform and is not your lawyer. Counsel Now consultations may be recorded and transcribed; see our Privacy Policy for how those records are handled.

4. Human Review Is Required

You must independently review and verify any AI-generated content before using it for legal, professional, personal, or business purposes. This includes answers, summaries, transcripts, notes, drafts, emails, letters, exports, and procedural guidance.

Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for:

  • filings, deadlines, or court submissions;
  • client communications or legal advice to others;
  • contract terms, formal notices, or sworn statements;
  • legal strategy, compliance decisions, or evidentiary claims; or
  • urgent or high-risk matters.

5. AI May Be Wrong

AI systems can hallucinate, omit critical facts, misread uploaded material, misunderstand context, mistranscribe speech, or generate content that is incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Voice transcripts and generated drafts are especially likely to require editing and verification.

6. Confidentiality And Authority To Share

Only submit information you are authorized to share. If you use Pocket Attorney in connection with client matters, workplace information, negotiations, or sensitive legal records, you remain responsible for assessing confidentiality, privilege, data protection, and professional obligations before using any AI, voice, or recorded consultation feature.

7. Recording, Voice, And Third-Party Participants

If you use voice, microphone, video, transcription, or Counsel Now features, you are responsible for obtaining any notice, consent, or authority required before capturing or processing another person’s voice, statements, image, or personal data through Pocket Attorney. You should expect that Counsel Now video consultations may be recorded.

8. Drafts Must Be Approved Before Sending

If Pocket Attorney helps generate an email, letter, update, or other communication, you must review the recipient, facts, tone, legal accuracy, attachments, confidentiality status, and all final content before sending or publishing it.

9. Tokens, Usage Costs, And Feature Access

Some AI actions may consume tokens or require a paid plan, and Counsel Now consultations are charged to your card on file. Tokens may be consumed when AI actions run, even if you later decide not to use the output. Token balances, bundle availability, costs, included allowances, and consultation fee ranges may vary by plan, attorney, platform, or environment.

10. Not For Emergencies Or Deadline-Critical Reliance

You should not use Pocket Attorney AI as your only system for emergency decisions, imminent legal deadlines, urgent filings, or matters where a delay, hallucination, or transcription error could materially prejudice a person or case. If you face an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency or professional services directly.
